The purpose of the thesis is to gather requirements, analyse and design a tool for evaluation of applicants within human resource selection process to help management in making effective employment decision.
The first part of the thesis explores the selection process as an essential management activity, and it tries to introduce a methodology for such a task. It provides a study of the problem from the perspective of social science. Then, particular attention has been paid to several practical multiple criteria decision making algorithms. The author also considers implementing a fuzzy logic approach.
The second section goes over SW design of the application. The application is conceived as a part of a human resources information system in a company. Promising concepts will be employed throughout all the phases of this task, for instance the RAD3 and UML, for future easy implementation in any object oriented language.

The purpose of the thesis is to gather requirements, analyse and eventually implement a tool for the easy management of symmetrical (publication type) crossword puzzles. This kind of a puzzle has a compact solid rectangular shape, including the clues for each answer. The tool should enable manual design, further modification of the puzzle, and an option to save it and reopen later. A feature to export the result to a format convenient for the consumers is emphasized. The thesis can also look over the eventualities of an automated assembling of puzzles. Fast enough algorithms should be designed for that purpose.
The first step, however, lies in the choice of an appropriate methodic and development environment. For certain, skills evaluation is not the only purpose of this project. The maker should also expand his horizons during its creation. With that in mind, promising concepts (unexplored by the author) will be employed throughout all the phases of this task, for instance the RAD3, UML or OOP within the Java platform.
